Remembering Jean Perron

By January 16, 2025No Comments

The world feels a little less vibrant today. We recently lost Jean Perron, our dear friend and immensely talented photographer, who has been a part of the Fever family for the past 28 years. His passing leaves a void that will be deeply felt by all who knew him.

Jean had a remarkable talent for transforming the ordinary into the extraordinary by capturing subjects with precision and flair. He was a true perfectionist, but never in a way that felt demanding or stressful. His careful attention to detail was balanced by his infectious enthusiasm and good humour. He had an innate understanding of light, composition, and that something that makes a photograph come to life.

We fondly remember long days on set with Jean, shooting campaigns and packaging for clients like Safeway. On a shoot for bakery products, we remember Jean meticulously examining each loaf, exploring its curves and contours to find the most pleasing angle for the desired outcome. He would get so excited about finding the “sexy bread,” as he called it, the one that had just the right curves. He found joy in the simple things, and that joy radiated through his work.

Jean had a unique ability to connect with people on a personal level, making everyone feel comfortable and valued. He was always ready with a kind word and a gentle tease, delivered in his charming French Canadian accent.

He helped us on brands like Olds College, S2 Architecture, Golden Happiness Bakery, Hung’s Noodles, and countless food retailers & processors, tell their stories through compelling visuals. And he did it all with a quiet intensity that was truly inspiring.

Jean’s talent was undeniable, but it was his kindness, his humility, and his genuine spirit that truly set him apart. He taught us the importance of patience, perseverance, and finding beauty in the world around us.

Jean was an artist in the truest sense of the word. He saw the world through a distinct lens, catching details that most of us overlook. He will live on in the countless images he took and the hearts he touched. We will miss his talent and his genuine spirit.

As we say goodbye to Jean, we celebrate the incredible legacy he leaves behind.

Thank you, Jean, for sharing your gift with us. You will be deeply missed our friend.
